Mick takes the Chair at Prescot Conclave 291 |
|
| On a sunny afternoon on Tuesday 7th April 2026 with the temperatures into the 20’s Knights of Prescot Conclave along with their guest descended upon Prescot Masonic Hall for the Enthronement meeting. | |
| The Divisional Eusebius, Alex Prescott, was in attendance. | |

| P.Kt John Roughley, opened the Conclave and quickly discharged the administrative business ably assisted by Ill. Kt. Colin Rowling the Recorder and P.Kt. David Hickman, the Marshal. | |
| We were soon into the focus for the evening, the Enthronement of E.Kt. Mick Southern as Most Puissant Sovereign and P.Kt. John Roughley as Viceroy. No, I didn’t make a mistake, they genuinely did exchange offices. |
|
| As is the case with all matters masonic, it wasn’t as simple as that! |
|
| John crafted a well-engineered ceremony with even Ray Pye wearing the red robe at one stage, the whole evening was a treat to behold. David Hickmans first outing as the Conclave Marshal was a complete success and he can rightly be proud of every body’s performance. |
|
| Officers were invested in no time at all then it was back to the planned business which involved Alex presenting an explanation of both the Red Cross and KHS certificates to Worthy Knight Frank Lees and well done they were. | |

| The remaining items of business discharged and we just had time to take the photographs to accompany this article. | |
| Then it was into the dinning room, via the bar of course, for a treat of a meal: Spring Rolls with chilli sauce, Braised Steak with mash potatoes pees and carrots followed by Eton Mess. This was prepared and served by the very pleasant staff at Prescot. Topping It all off with coffee and after dinner mints. Very yummy. | |
| About 9.30 we were done and dusted and tipping out into the ‘cooler’ night air and on our way home feeling fully satisfied that Mick had been well and truly enthroned. | |
| The Conclave meets of the 1st Tuesday in February, April and November and always welcome guests. Not in the Red Cross yet, Prescot could be a nice place to join. | |
