Westhoughton KHS |
|
Following on from the KHS ceremony at St Helena Conclave in January, the call for assistance went out from Westhoughton Conclave to fill some offices whilst they were admitting their own Knight Michael Harrison as a Knight of the Orders commonly referred to as the 'KHS' on Thursday 16th February.
And assistance they got with Knights from other Conclaves offering their help and coming along to take advantage of the superb facilities at Brookfield Hall.
Amongst those working the floor were no less than two past Intendants General R. Ill Kt's Ken Shaw and Mike Walker, with our current IG Graham E Williams attending in a private visit to observe the proceedings. However with the Divisional Marshal, Ray Pye being the Sovereign what could possibly go wrong!

Following a brief business meeting in the Red Cross, which resulted in the election of E. Kt. Gary Fisher as Sovereign Elect, E. Kt's. Tom Crompton as Viceroy and Brian Sharples as Treasurer. The meeting closed and we all moved into the Temple set up for the KHS.
The work load had been nicely allocated with some trusted names doing the inevitable long and complicated bits, and others ensuring that the i's were dotted and t's were crossed.
Michael was expertly guided around the Sanctuary by several officers during the three part ceremony and it all made for a pleasant night of Red Cross Ceremonial under the guidance of the Conclave Marshal Terry Bailey.
Following the business in the Lodge rooms we retired to an ample festive board, which I won't dissect in case my doctor reads this report, suffice it to say it was very good.
Congratulations to Geoff Porter the recorder for his arrangements and for the timely call for assistance, those who answered the call, enjoyed the evening immensely.
